Trading card games are very strategic games that start with your imagination and end with a deck full of cards that support what you imagined. Whether your imagination creates a rush, control, combo, aggressive, or some combination of those decks it all comes down to the cards and their interactions. In this article, we'll focus on the art of the Combination or Combo deck. For those of you that don't know, a Combo deck is a deck comprised of cards that work together to create some kind of effect that is beneficial to your overall strategy and detrimental to your opponent's. Combo decks usually have at least one key card that once drawn and played kicks off your Deck's combo strategy. For the most part though, Combo Decks rely on more than one card and card combinations to accomplish the intended goal...
Recent events in the Duel Masters community have left many of us worried about the future of the game. What can we as a community do to encourage Wizards of the Coast to keep this game alive and supported in the long term? If we get more people playing the game, that could lead to greater sales for Wizards, and a proven means to getting more people involved in the game is to have a local tournament scene. Tournaments get people excited about the game, and encourage them to play more frequently and to buy product to improve both their understanding of the game and their performance in tournaments. An active community, both in terms of sales and tournament participation, would provide Wizards the needed indicators that the game is healthy and has an audience to support it. In this article, I will provide information and suggestions on how to start and build a tournament scene...

In the current metagame you can see cards that affect all players a lot (such as Burst Shot and Blizzard of Spears), although there are some great ones that don't see much play (like Nariel, the Oracle), and one of those great creatures is Warped Lunatron from Blatosplosion of Gigantic Rage...
For some reason I’ve always had a thing about rooting for the underdog. For example, I remember when I was a kid watching tennis and cheering for this poor newcomer who just couldn’t seem to get a break. In the match he would chase ball after ball only for his efforts not to pay off. While things didn’t work out that day, Andre Aggasi seems to have done pretty well since then...

The Continental Championship of 2006 for Duel Masters is now in the past, and we look towards the future. We all know that any forum you go to has at least a couple solid threads expressing their opinions of Bombazar. Some say it’s broken, some say it’s a tool, others say it’s perfectly fine. My opinion is that it is simply a tool. If you visit some of the other forums, you might’ve seen me arguing my point. However, this article isn’t about Bombazar’s status, it’s about another card – Soulswap...
The newest expansion, Blastoplosion of Gigantic Rage, completes the multi-civilization cycle. The multi-civilization creatures of the last expansion are already being abused in many cases.
Will these spells be featured and abused in decks like there creature counterparts?
How much more fitting is it for the introduction of a set called “Blastoplosion of Gigantic Rage” to be premiered at a tournament where a key card of the winning deck is simply known as “The Bomb?” That’s right, Ben Rowe managed to pilot his Bombazar Blue into a near perfect win and achieve the official status of ‘Kaijudo Master’ at this years North American Continental Championships. In fact, his championship deck was based upon the one found in an article written by yours truly, “Bombersaur – the Rock Beast with ‘tude” according to Ben himself! Unlike in last years event, this year Ben accomplished what I personally had desired to see for Duel Masters. While participating in a mixed field of players, including many of those much older than him Ben withstood the competition to take the victory as his own proving Duel Masters to be one of the first TCGs to possess a truly balanced system that can be exploited by all players...
Well, CCs just ended a while ago, so I thought I’d let all of you that missed out get in on the action, and for those who went, well….umm…all of you can see what I did! In any case, I think this report provides a positive outlook on the event and makes the future of the game look very bright. Without further adieu, here’s the report!..

Wave Striker is the newest ability being presented to us in Blastospolsion of Gigantic Rage.
Will Wave Striker wind up a viable constructed tactic proving more power for less cost or will it simply be shuffled to the side like so many other not so hot abilities premiered in the past?
Welcome to part five of this six part look at DM-11 Eternal Wave. Like the light civilization, the nature civilization has gotten a new evolution empowering a race players have mostly ignored. This new evolution and a new 1 cost rush creature of this race will challenge the Gladiators for racial supremacy. Which race will win the war, and what else does nature have in store for its enemies? Read on to discover their secrets...
Time is ticking with less than an entire week until the 2006 North American Continental Championships. While personally I do not expect the same turn out as the last event, I do anticipate the level of skill and the potency of decks to equal or exceed last years. With that, it would be nice to have a good idea regarding what decks one should prepare for. While no one possess a crystal ball and surely completely unheard of decks will send shock and awe upon plenty of opponents I believe we can expect to see three critical deck archetypes along with several less played, yet potentially significant forms...
Welcome to part three of this six part look at DM-11 Eternal Wave. This week I review the fire civilization which has gotten a shift in philosophy. While DM-10 gave some rush power to the fire civilization, DM-11 gives fire more control. In addition the fire civilization has gotten a big, new powerful dragon to its already powerful dragon arsenal. Read on to see the changes that have occurred in the fire civilization...
I had my first draft experience with Duel Masters a little over a year ago, shortly after the release of the Shadowclash of Blinding Night expansion. One weekend, we went down to our local games store, praying to have the four players we needed turn up to hold our weekly constructed event... But we were in for a surprise: By the time we had got there, six other players had turned up, and with the new release of Shadowclash a few weeks previous, the store owner asked us if we wanted him to run an eight-man Shadowclash booster draft. We agreed, handed him our cash, quickly grabbed our four packs, and it was on to the draft!..
